Tacos and Tequila in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

A guided taco and tequila crawl through the historic center of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, from tacos al pastor to mole and mezcal.

No visit to San Miguel de Allende is complete without tacos and tequila, so we set out with local guides Alma and her brother David. They led us all over the city center for top tacos, street tacos, tacos al pastor, fried grasshoppers, authentic mole and enchiladas, plus enough tequila and mezcal to blur the evening a little. Fortunately, the cameras were rolling.

Along the way they taught us so much about the city that the official historic tour we’d taken the day before felt redundant. Our advice: take the taco tour and you get two experiences in one.
