Tacos and Street Food in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

A walking taco tour of old town Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with birria, carnitas, chicharrón and two dessert stops along the way.

We were back in Punta de Mita, Mexico, staying in a beachfront villa big enough for our family and a few friends, when those friends treated us to a 3.5-hour walking taco tour of old town Puerto Vallarta with the local experts at Vallarta Eats.

We worked through birria at Birria Ricky and Birria Chanfay, a carnitas stand, Marisma and El Morena, with a fresh juice blend, Collins Bakery and chicharrón in between. Dessert came twice: La Michoacana, then Dulcería Con Orgullo Azteca. Five tacos, two desserts, zero regrets.
