Newport Beach, California: Balboa Island and Local Favorites

After two years of eating our way around the world, our 35th city brought us stateside to Newport Beach, California. We set out to do what locals do, with outdoor favorites and their top food recommendations.

We started at the Farmhouse at Rogers Gardens, then crossed to Balboa Island for a frozen banana at Sugar and Spice and a stop at Balboa Candy. We walked the boardwalk, rode the ferry, hit the Fun Zone and Balboa Pier, then ate at Royal Hen, the Beachcomber at Crystal Cove and Lido Bottle Works before ice cream at Malibu Farm.
