Nantucket: Sailing, Lighthouses and the Whaling Museum

Five family days on Nantucket, sailing the coast with a local expert, exploring Brant Point Light and visiting the island’s Whaling Museum.

Nantucket has a reputation as a playground for the rich and famous, so we spent five days finding out what it offers ordinary vacationers. Quite a lot, it turns out.

We got the lay of the land around Brant Point and its iconic lighthouse, explored the shops, and learned about the island’s history at the Whaling Museum. There was an ice cream social, naturally, and the highlight was a private sail along the coast with a local expert. There’s more than enough here to keep a whole family busy for a week.
