Silver Endeavour represents the closest thing the expedition cruise world has to a flying private equivalent — a ship specifically designed and operated for Antarctica that refuses to compromise on what happens when you’re not on the ice. Originally built as Crystal Endeavor and acquired by Silversea in 2022, the ship was refitted and relaunched under Silversea’s ultra-luxury standards, becoming the brand’s dedicated expedition flagship and the most premium vessel currently operating regular Antarctic itineraries.
The ship carries just 200 guests in 100 all-suite accommodations, supported by a crew of nearly 200 — a staff-to-guest ratio that borders on the private yacht experience. Suites range from the intimate Classic Veranda category through to the lavish Owner’s Suite, with the majority featuring private verandas and butler service across all categories. Seven dining venues, a full spa and wellness center, a pool, and immersive expedition programming are all included in the fare. The onboard Expedition Team includes certified polar guides, ornithologists, glaciologists, and marine biologists who lead every shore excursion via Zodiac.
Where Silver Endeavour specifically earns its place at the top of the tier: the combination of genuine expedition capability (PC6 rating, zero-speed stabilizers, Zodiacs) with an onboard experience that feels nothing like roughing it. If you want champagne in your suite after a morning with the penguins — and butler service that anticipates you’ll need it — this is the ship.
