SH Vega
Swan Hellenic’s compact expedition ship — 152 guests, 76 all-suites, PC6 polar class, and deep cultural enrichment programming. Primarily Arctic-focused with select Antarctica sailings.

Swan Hellenic’s Compact Expedition Ship
SH Vega is Swan Hellenic’s smaller and more nimble expedition vessel, carrying 152 guests in 76 all-suite accommodations with PC6 polar class capability. Launched in 2023, Vega extends Swan Hellenic’s signature deep-enrichment approach into a more compact format — one that enables access to more remote anchorages and tighter passages that her larger sister ships cannot navigate.
Like SH Diana and SH Minerva, Vega’s expedition program is built around scholars, scientists, historians, and naturalists who provide the contextual depth that distinguishes Swan Hellenic from purely wildlife-focused operators. Cultural sites, archaeological contexts, and indigenous community interactions are integrated alongside wildlife encounters and polar landscapes. The ratio of expedition team members to guests is generous, and the smaller ship size means more individual attention from the team throughout each voyage.
SH Vega is primarily deployed on Arctic routes — Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland, the Northwest Passage — but also operates select Antarctica itineraries. For travelers specifically drawn to the Arctic who want a more intimate setting than Diana, or who are combining polar voyages with cultural coastal routes, Vega represents a strong and distinct choice within the Swan Hellenic fleet.
