Florence’s Uffizi, Duomo and Sant’Ambrogio Market

A walking tour of Florence, Italy, past the Duomo, Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio, plus market shopping and pici carbonara made at home.

Florence on foot: we walked from the Mercato Centrale past the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio, with a pastry stop at Iginio Massari and another round of shopping at the Sant’Ambrogio Market (plus biscotti, naturally).

Then we headed back to the house we were staying in at the heart of the city, gave you the full tour, and put its commercial-quality kitchen to work making pici carbonara from our market haul. Before the day was done, we also stopped in at Lorenzo Villoresi. It’s the kind of day that makes Florence feel like home.
