Oceania Insignia
Oceania’s most intimate ship — 670 guests, classic country-club atmosphere, and all-inclusive dining across four restaurants. Antarctica, on a quieter, more personal scale.

Intimate Luxury for the Continent Collector
Insignia’s intimate 670-guest scale makes it one of the more approachable ways to experience Antarctica in luxury. Ask us about routing options.
Oceania Insignia is the oldest and most intimate ship in the Oceania fleet — one of the original R-class vessels that helped define the brand when it launched in 2002. At 670 guests, she’s roughly half the size of Marina and carries a distinctly different personality: quieter, more relaxed, with the feel of a private club at sea rather than a full-service luxury resort. Regatta-class ships like Insignia are designed for travelers who care far more about where they’re going than what’s happening on deck 14.
The ship underwent a comprehensive refurbishment in 2018 as part of Oceania’s OceaniaNEXT program — a $100 million investment across the four Regatta-class vessels that replaced every surface in every suite and stateroom, updated technology throughout, and refreshed all dining venues and public spaces. The result is a ship that feels considerably newer than her 1998 keel would suggest, while retaining the intimate, unhurried pace that loyal Oceania guests specifically seek out.
Insignia’s dining program mirrors the broader Oceania model: four open-seating restaurants (The Grand Dining Room, Toscana, Polo Grill, and Red Ginger) all included in the fare, with no specialty dining surcharges. The Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center, casino, and multiple lounges — including the Horizons observation lounge and the Insignia Lounge for evening entertainment — round out the onboard experience.
For Antarctica, Insignia appears primarily in extended world voyage itineraries and select South American grand voyages that include scenic Antarctic cruising as part of a broader routing. As with Marina, this is not an expedition cruise — the experience is scenic sailing through Antarctic waters, not Zodiac landings on the ice. But for guests already committed to a longer journey and seeking the most comfortable, intimate possible introduction to the seventh continent, Insignia delivers a genuinely appealing option at a price point that typically undercuts Marina’s comparable sailings.
Stateroom categories range from Inside cabins through to Owner’s Suites, with veranda accommodations making up the majority of inventory. Penthouse Suites and above include butler service; the Concierge Level Veranda category unlocks private lounge access, priority services, and a dedicated concierge. Insignia also introduced 14 dedicated solo staterooms in 2022 — one of the few luxury ships to thoughtfully accommodate single travelers.
